One of my favorite events to work on was a Bar Mitzvah celebration styled in a 1940’s baseball theme. The party theme was created by the boy’s mom, talented and effervescent Event Planner, Dayna Platnick, whom I always have a blast working with. As her son’s name is Casey, it was a natural for the “Casey at the Bat” tagline she had settled on, and when she asked me to develop a logo for the party, we ‘younged it up’ a bit to resonate more with the kids’ generation by adding the @ sign to the graphic. The font is distressed to underscore the vintage nature of the concept.
For the seating chart we created a retro ‘Players Line Up’, utilizing both a distressed font for the heading and a handwritten script for the “players”. Photo courtesy of Jesse Hernandez Photography.
I addressed the envelopes in varied fonts, fully justified to match the invitations from Stationery Stephanie. For the stamp design, I incorporated the cork texture pulled from the invitation.
The logo was repeated throughout, including on the bar, above, and on the water bottles, below. Photos courtesy of Jesse Hernandez Photography.
This exceptional party was featured in a past edition of Mitzvah Market.
