Home Style Saturdays 22: Plans for March
Happy weekend everyone! I hope you had a good week and that the weather has been treating you well. There’s still snow piled on our patio, but we’re hoping for a warmer weekend. I’m looking ahead to new projects in my plans for March, and if you read the newsletter yesterday you know I’m thinking about some updates for the dining room.
This year will likely not include any major renovations like the kitchen project we completed last year, as I hope do some fun traveling and the budget doesn’t allow for both. But I’m more focused on styling upgrades instead. My plans for March and beyond are leaning towards refining my style to include a more modern version of French Country style, but no worries. I won’t be adding anything mid-century any time soon!
So what are your plans for March? What are you looking forward to or thinking about starting to work on? I’d love to know what you’re most interested in, so I can see if I can add anything to help inspire you. I will be starting to feature some of the free home decorating consultations in the next few weeks and would love your input on those, as well.

Lory,
I cannot wait to see what you ahve planned for your Dining Room. It is so pretty. I am thinking your Dining Room will be a larger version of how you have decoratedd your beautiful kitchen/breakfast room with the cane chairs, etc. I am also planning an update on our small dining room and want to hold off on that until I see what you are doing in yours. Your home is so beautiful and you are a fabulous decorator. I am sure everyone agrees and would love to have you come do theirs. I can certainly see you on HGTV with your own show. Enjoy this nice week-end. We are celebrating my Mom’s 86th Birthday 🙂 Hugs, Kathy
Thanks so much, Kathy!! The first dining room post is coming tomorrow or the next day. I am gearing it more towards the look of my kitchen, but our dining room is not as brightly lit as the breakfast room. I’m also working with most of my existing furniture, but you’d be surprised what a big change some small things can make. Stay tuned! Oh, and happy birthday to mom!
Thank u 🙂
I am looking forward to seeing your ‘new’ dining room. I would like to see the styles of Art you like, or would pick, for a French Country home. Thank you!
The first dining room post is coming in the next few days… 🙂 (The room isn’t done, but it’s a work in progress.) I tend to like botanicals, and also pretty painterly scenes, but I’m starting to go whiter with my colors, so not sure my existing artwork still works. Of course, my favorite thing to put on my walls is gilded mirrors!
New here, but enjoy what I have seen, will have to look at older posts. Two years ago we gutted our kitchen and redid the master bath. This fall we replaced the wood trim on the main floor with bigger trim painted off white. I like all whites but in love with ivories and creams so that is what we did in the kitchen and great room. All the stair rails were painted too…it took almost a week for that alone. This year we have to replace the deck before it falls off of the house. Always love ideas for that too. I have fallen for swedish country with a touch of french country all in creams, a clean pretty look. We have oak floors. I hope to bleach them but there is serious moving of things to do that. Hubby is not amused! Thanks for lovely site.
Jillian, let me first say welcome!! It’s always a pleasure to see readers’ comments and while I don’t always get to respond, I always read them and try to comment as often as I can. I’m a huge fan of Swedish decor, as well, and I think it works really nicely with French country. I’ve been moving into more and more white and have been thinking of bleaching my floors too! One step at a time… 😉
Sounds beautiful !!
Love hearing about your plans! Looking forward to seeing it come together!
