How to Chalk Paint a Dark Wood Nightstand

STEP 1

Wipe down the piece and remove the drawers and hardware.

PREP THE PIECE

For an aged but flat look I chose Old Linen.

SELECT YOUR PAINT COLORS

STEP 3

I selected new pulls.

DECIDE IF YOU'LL BE KEEPING THE OLD HARDWARE

STEP 4

FOR A FLAT LOOK I PAINTED THREE COATS FOR GOOD COVERAGE

FINISH OFF WITH 2 COATS OF CLEAR WAX

STEP 5

MORE TIPS

Remove the hardware before painting. Take drawers out and paint separately. Let wax dry overnight before buffing. You can always paint over any mistakes.
