Happy Sunday friends! As promised, I’m bringing back the weekly Top 10, a look at what is inspiring me this week from around the web. This series is always one of my most popular of the week.
This week I’m also starting my weekly giveaways. I’ve gathered a bunch of pretty vintage pieces from my parents’ collection. After cleaning out their home, these are the items I found that were too pretty to toss out but I simply have no room for in my own home. After much thought, I realized the best thing to do with them is offer them to like minded people who will appreciate them. Since I’ll need to pay shipping costs, I’m limiting it to smaller items, so you will see lots of teacups and small china pieces, as well as other collectibles.
Each week I will post two items that the winner will select from. In order to be entered in the drawing, all you need to do is comment on a post on the blog between this Sunday and next Saturday. The more comments you post, the more chances you have to win, but the winner will be selected randomly and blindly, so even one short comment can produce a winner.
Once the winner is selected, I will announce it next Saturday during Home Style Saturdays. (I will get mailing addresses privately to send your gifts.) The winner will choose between the two offered items and the remaining one will go into the following week’s giveaway with a second option for the next winner to choose between. I have lots of items to give away and should be able to continue this for close to a year. You can win more than once, since winners are chosen completely randomly.
(Thanks to a reader for pointing this out: I forgot to add, you can’t comment on this post because it’s a newsletter post and doesn’t have a comment box. I should’ve added that the upcoming posts this week will be a bathroom renovation on Tuesday, the Wednesday link party, ’20 Minute Decorating’ on Thursday, French Country Fridays on Friday, and Home Style Saturdays on Saturday where I will announce the winner… :-))
So here are this week’s two giveaway options.
The first piece is a Wedgwood-Florentine with Griffons bone china ashtray. It’s in excellent condition and measures 4 1/2” in diameter. You can see the underside markings in the second photo. (I saw this exact piece on Chairish *on sale* for $65.00!)
The second piece is a floral tole candlestick holder. It’s also in very good condition (although one petal was glued back on) and it measures 6” wide x 3 3/4” high.
Good luck!! Now on to this week’s Top 10…
04.28.19 – Early Summer Seersucker
If there’s one thing that says summer at a quick glance, it’s seersucker! For our purposes today, I’ll include ticking, gingham and other pretty summer stripes and checks. They lend such a refreshing look and you can almost feel the soft summer breeze when you look at these fabrics used in the home. They work perfectly with farmhouse, french country, cottage and many other styles. Today’s Top 10 looks at summer seersuckers used around the house. Bring your own lemonade!
