  1. Yay! I’m so excited you are embarking on this journey! It is going to be fun but challenging. I can’t wait to see what you do with this space as I know it is going to be terrific.

    1. Ha ha… I can’t wait to see too! Not sure how this will turn out, but it will be fun being pushed to get it done… 🙂 Glad you’re doing it too!!

I so love the last picture – it is so French.
    Have fun doing this room
Can’t wait to follow you throughout the process.

    Have a great weekend

    1. Thanks, Rose! Yes, I love that last one too… unfortunately I don’t have the open door with all that light flooding in like that pic, but will try to do my best… 😉

Oh, the suspense! How do you choose when all the designs are so pretty? The one thing I did notice was that rooms with lamps on gave such a warm and welcome feeling, and I think everyone can appreciate that when they enter your home. I know your project will be beautiful, Lory. Can’t wait to see it.

    1. Thanks, Bobbi! I’m most worried about photographing the room once it’s done since the space is small and hard to back up far enough, but we’ll just see how this goes. May have to be mostly close ups.

  4. I love your front entry foyer!

We changed a pantry into a mudroom, but it still isn’t what I would like. I like the idea of having a chair there, rather than benches. We have neither! What I do have is a high shelf and lots of hooks.

I also have several children 🙂

I live in a warm climate, so I don’t really need a place for gloves and hats except for a couple of months a year. I like that you are using drawers. With a large family, there isn’t room for a cubbyhole space for everyone (and we don’t really need one).

Your ideas definitely have me rethinking the space. I’d love it to be both more practical and more formal!

    1. Thanks, Brandy! I had a similar set up even when my kids were growing up, although at that time in was in the front entry. I just like to think about what my actual needs are and then try to service them, while making it look pretty… 🙂 I’ve just posted the second installment – the foundational furniture pieces, so you can check that one out too. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hi Lory,

I love your remodel of your back entry! So inviting!

I also love the wall color–could you tell me what it is?
Brand and color? It’s creamy enough to be warm and
    inviting, but not screaming “yellow”.

    Thanks, Sophie

    1. Hi Sophie,

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, sure the color is Benjamin Moore Mannequin Cream 2152-60.

      Best,
      Lory
