French Country Fridays 10: Savoring the Charm of French Inspired Decor
Welcome to French Country Fridays 10, a place to celebrate the charm of French inspired decor!
Do you ever wonder what makes a culture so enticing? I’m not French and have no French relatives. But for as long as I can remember I’ve been in love with all things French.
I know my love of European travel dates back to grade school, when I had to do a term paper about a foreign country. My parents instructed me to visit the travel agent that was walking distance from our home and I have a distinct recollection of receiving a travel brochure on Europe that I was enrapt with. Each double page spread highlighted a separate country and I was fascinated with how different each one was from the next.
Perhaps my interest in France came shortly thereafter when I began learning the language in school. But it’s still a mystery to me where the near obsession came from in the lovely little objects the country has to offer. Did it follow my growing interest in fashion? When did it divert to home decor? It’s something I continue to think about, but enjoy immensely.
