Holiday Outfits: Affordable and Cute Party Outfits for Women
In this post: Looking for cute affordable holiday outfits? Here are ideas for what to wear to this season’s Christmas parties, both casual and formal.⇒
You will rarely find me in a dress.
It’s not that I don’t like the way dresses look or feel. I just find mixed separates to be infinitely more interesting.
There are so many more styling options, along with opportunities to make your outfits look different for each event. Keep the top and skirt the same, but switch out the jacket and you have a whole new look. Change accessories and upgrade a casual work party ensemble into formal evening wear.
Separates are more versatile than one-piece dresses, as the items can be worn individually, mingled with your everyday wardrobe to get more mileage out of each piece. In this season of sparkle and shine, a sequins top can transform your jeans and t-shirt uniform into a party-ready hit!

The perfect outfit for a festive night out after work, this first look is the most casual in the bunch, falling under the fun heading of ‘denim and diamonds’. Pair great fitting jeans with a shimmery camisole and top it off with a cropped faux fur jacket. Add a great layered necklace, a chic patterned purse and platform sandals with a glimmer all their own.
The quintessential winter look, mix lustrous silver with shades of winter white. A slim turtleneck reins in a voluminous skirt and the surprise of western boots adds a playful note. Toss in a champagne clutch to keep things from getting too icy and finish off with a creamy faux fur coat.
For a dinner party try this warmer look, with brown satin pants and a rich amber velvet top. An exaggerated lapel jacket in faux sheared beaver will keep you toasty, while pearl trim baubles add an elegant flair. Suede booties and a quilted chain bag cap off the look.
If your event is on the more formal side, this twist on a tuxedo could be just the thing. The lace-sleeve fitted blazed makes a majestic statement being both polished and refined and needs little more than a simple camisole and fabulous earrings. The velour pants take it up another notch, as does the faux fur clutch.
For a holiday party luncheon that’s on the casual side, you can wear a simple everyday outfit and enhance with a few convivial touches. Start with a base of vegan leather leggings and a chunky loafer, then add a gleaming bronze tee and a classic tartan jacket. Gold accessories seal the deal, from jewelry to the trim on shoes and bag.
For an opulent evening party, you can go all out, with a black sequined pencil skirt and a sparkly gold sweater. Intricate gold hoops and a gold trimmed bag play off the sweater, while a black suede bootie adds a bit of trendy chic.
This is another look that can be both dressed up or dressed down. Start with vegan leather paperbag waist pants, add an ivory sequined tank top underpinning and then cover up with a rhinestone button cardigan. The real holiday jolt comes from the regal red handbag. Final touches include a sling back stiletto and gold jewelry.
This look is suited to an event you’re hosting at home, as it’s both stylish and comfortable, with an animal print top coupled with a simple cropped black pant. Flat cheetah mules will keep you standing all night and a luxe velvet blazer welcomes the party mood.
No closet is complete without a little black dress and this one is ever-so-flattering. For a traditional formal party you could pair it with the slingback stilettos and a rhinestone trim clutch and you’d be good to go. But for a great bit of fun and an edgy twist, try a lug-sole boot with stones at the ankle and a buffalo check overcoat and beaded scarf. Pearls are the icing on the cake.
If comfort is your thing, you can wear pants to even the most formal party. This crushed velvet balloon sleeve top and coordinating pants will get the job done, mixed with a gold beaded evening bag and platform sandals. Add a gold and pearl necklace and a black duster coat. Then dance the night away!
