Hi Lory,
I wanted to let you know that your kitchen makeover inspired both me and my husband so much that we are now in the middle of our own re-do despite our home being half the size. We’ve found someone to paint our cabinets but have chosen new cabinet doors as. Well so that I can have two cupboards with glass doors.
I’ve always been a fan of marble, my husband did our backsplash in our former home with Carrera marble and I loved it. What I’m wondering is if you had any issues with ordering your supply from amazon. I received my order of the calacutta marble yesterday and it looks as if I’ve got white subway tile. Instead of generous veining of tan and gray, it’s nearly all white. I’ve contacted them and sent pictures and am waiting for their response. I’m hoping they will replace one third of the tiles but we’ll see. It’s a big project since we are going to redo the floor and it’s all part of the open area living space. Looks like no fall decorating for me!
How exciting that you’re working on this project! I would definitely make sure they replace some of the tiles. The whole point is to have the veining and it should look like it does in the photo. It’s true that stone varies from piece to piece but you should not have to keep it if it’s lacking the veining.
Btw, I’m currently working on the next round of kitchen renovation and it involves the counters! Stay tuned…;-)
