Fall Shopping Guide: How to Put Together Affordable Cute Fall Outfits
In this post: Looking for some cute fall outfits? This fall shopping guide touches on the top trends and shows you how to put these affordable pieces together.⇒
I’ve been known to wear black turtlenecks and jeans everywhere I go.
But there’s so much more to life!
Yes, everyone should own a fabulous turtleneck and who doesn’t covet a great fitting pair of jeans? But you can dress them up or down in so many ways, simply by accessorizing or adding a great jacket.
And with this year’s fun trends, if you’re really feeling flirty, why not try a great little dress and chic booties?

In today’s post I’m sharing some of my favorite fall items, playfully curated into cute fall outfits. They’re perfect for work-from-home, a casual weekend outing or even an intimate dinner date.
You’ll find many of this year’s trends represented here, but you can also select the items that most speak to you, and downplay the ‘of-the-moment’ aspect for a more classic interpretation.
You can shop each look from the links beneath the outfit, or find all the products in one place at the bottom of the post.
And since most of the items are reasonably affordable (ok, affordable is in the eye of the beholder, but we’re not talking Gucci and Prada), you’ll have plenty left over for a pumpkin spice latte!
Happy Shopping!!

The outfits are cute, but personally I am not interested in fashion blogs.
Thank you for your honest feedback!
Since you asked that we give you feedback on whether you should include fashion posts, I think you should give it a go but include pieces that could stand the test of time. I’m afraid none of these outfits interested me. Too edgy. I like clean, classic, elegant lines. I’m also ‘of a certain age’, so trendy stuff doesn’t interest me. Hope this helps!
Thanks, Sharon! I appreciate the candor… 🙂 Would you like to see what the edgy trends are and then see how they apply to more classic style (for instance animal print as a trend, but then used in a scarf with a classic outfit)?
Yes! That would be terrific!
Yes! Just like Sharon, as a 64 year old, I dress in a classic fashion, but love throwing in a trend, especially animal print, cute booties, etc.
Love fashion ideas and decorating. You go, girl!
Blessings,
Teresa
I like the idea of having a fashion post maybe just for the changing seasons. Some of the items you selected I found I loved and others gave me ideas for the upcoming Holidays.
I love the idea of keeping it to just seasonal trends! My focus is definitely to remain primarily with home decor… 🙂
Love the idea and the outfit parings are stylish and fun.
Thank you, Sandra!
I love that you are stepping out of the box with the clothes trends to share with us. We all need to look good still.
That’s good to hear! 🙂
Love the sharing of fashion ideas! Home fashion and apparel fashions share many common elements. What’s fun is to show how the colors we wear also do well in interior design, ie. grey sofa and camel colored pillows, blonde coffee table, etc. I view scarves as sofa pillows, and on and on….Please continue. You are on to something.
Yes, I very much agree with that and was thinking of positioning the post that way! Glad to hear you’d welcome that… 🙂
I’ve always loved fashion especially when I was working. These outfits are cute but certainly not what I’d be wearing now. I feel that this pandemic has had a huge impact on my appearance and I don’t even bother with makeup anymore. Quite frankly, I’m ashamed of myself. Today we’re taking a ride up north to see fall color so I decided to fix my face since I don’t need a mask!
Anyway I enjoy your posts and seeing fashion every now and then is fun. But I think you could offer more in the way of perspective by talking about the trend and how they could be translated to our every day lives.
Thank you, Margo! I think that’s a great idea… 🙂
Love love this post!!! I would love to see more!!
Thank you! So glad to hear it!!
I enjoyed the post today. I like to see trends for fall and spring and I believe I have found a leather belt which isn’t easy to find at a reasonable price. Thank you.
That’s awesome!
I’m not interested, but I wouldn’t unsubscribe if they were included. I would just skip those posts.
I wouldn’t mind an occasional fashion post but there are plenty of those around? However, this IS your blog so follow your heart and I believe most of us will continue to follow you?
Yes, after having been in the fashion industry (including buying and merchandising) for almost twenty-five years, I always enjoy fashion blogs!
I would be very interested in fashion blogs ?.
Thank you for considering sharing some with us!
My store sells home decor, women’s clothing & accessories + jewelry and seasonal items so I want to see it wall and make sure I’m on trend with what I’m buying!!!!
I enjoyed having a quick peek but found the outfits a bit too edgy and really, not for a middle aged body type. I do like to see the current fashions though and then interpret them into what I already own and what works on my body type.
Not interested and frankly just see it as a way to generate income…..sorry, but you asked.
I dont mind seeing fashion, it’s a nice change. Just not real often.
I loved the fashion post!!!!!
I feel these outfits are for the younger set, not our age. Some of the items are okay, but in general too young for our age group.
I too would just glance at these posts, but would stay with you.
Thanks, Shelly!
Hi Lory,
Yes, please add fashion to your blog. I’m not letting the pandemic dictate that I forget something I enjoy and want to see. I do love decorating, too!
Thank you for all the info, tips and beautiful photos. I appreciate all of your effort.
Thank you so much for the feedback, Elaine!
