Beautiful House Tour: A Gorgeous Updated French Dream Home
In this post: If you’re looking for design ideas and home decor inspiration, you’ll love this beautiful house tour of an updated French dream home!⇒
The one thing I love more than a house tour is…
a French inspired house tour!
I truly can appreciate many different types of decor, but when I find something that parallels my favorite style, well, that is an exceptional treat.
Today I’m sharing one such home, that combines the absolute best from a few varied traditions including French Country decor, and updated modern, with hints of Swedish and farmhouse style all rolled into one.
It’s open and airy and utterly delightful down to every last inch. It’s at once beautiful and comfortable, and despite its grandeur it appears altogether welcoming. From the Norman exterior above to the gracious rooms you will see below, this lovely tour should please any French decor fan.
The interiors were designed and photographed by the owner, Brittany Jones, and if you love French style, I encourage you to follow her on Instagram at @brittany_jones_life.
Now let’s take a look…
Gorgeous French Dream Home
At the entrance of the home one is immediately struck by how warm and inviting and yet also light and bright it is. Brittany describes her style as timeless and relaxed, and she couldn’t be more right.
The entryway above is one of my favorite spaces, and I can only imagine what it feels like to come home to this view. Brittany loves to use vintage finds because they tell a story, like this old refurbished chair, doors, and table!
In addition to the spacious feel, there are gorgeous bits of detailing throughout the home, such as a wonderful framed archway made from reclaimed Chicago brick, which opens to the living room.
The color palette is soft and tranquil, creating the ideal environment to unwind and refresh.
Taking advantage of the open concept space, the dining table is paired with a charming blend of seating, with two fabulous tufted end chairs, a wooden bench and a few pretty oval backed side chairs.
It acts as a bridge from living space to a luxurious French Country kitchen, with elegant stone and hanging copper pots, the very definition of casual chic.
The den, seen below, is the ultimate in cozy, with a dramatic wood ceiling, crisp white walls, and a welcoming brick floor. With the brass sconces it’s the perfect mix of dark and light, warm and cool, rugged and sophistication.
The planking in the den was distressed by Brittany’s husband and the beams are reclaimed from an old barn in Michigan.
It’s a great space for cherished family time.
The understated elegance of a white powder room is dressed up with enchanting details, including a petite vessel sink from Atmosphyre and a wall mounted faucet with a gorgeous finish from Sigma.
The master bedroom is an absolute triumph, with a stunning blend of rustic and refined elements. Brittany says, “I love the light and bright walls mixed with the warm and cozy brown. It helps keep the space feeling grounded and interesting!”
The deconstructed chair sums the entire concept up, marrying burlap and exposed stitching with the nobility of gilded curves.
Like many of the bathrooms, the master bath takes advantage of a white backdrop, off which to play the exceptional features. A splendid mix of metals can be seen throughout, in mirrors, sconces, faucets and knobs.
In another bedroom with an exquisite combination of textiles, the palest of aquas adds a note of gentility to the space. The barn door sliders were painted by Brittany herself.
The luxe adjoining bathroom has a neutral underpinning, this time a bit warmer than the optic whites seen elsewhere, but equally as crisp and classic. The patterned floor tile adds a touch of tasteful distinction.
Perhaps the most enchanting space in the entire home is the bedroom that belongs to Brittany’s daughter, a room that exudes delicacy and grace. Like a secret garden, the room is quite magical, utilizing subtle hints of blush pink, yet maintaining the poise and composure of the rest of the home.
A sweet little sitting area near the generous window basks in the bright light streaming through the sheer panels.
The en suite bath suits the bedroom perfectly, with huge windows and tons of counter space. Brittany shares, “My favorite features are the built in laundry bin, the shelves for baskets that hold all of her bath toys and products, and the precious framed shoes and pearls!” which have special meaning to her.
Even the laundry room is light and bright, with refined details and the same spirit as the rest of the home. It’s uncluttered and spare, yet polished and urbane, a delightful space to tend to necessary rituals.
Brittany recently converted her home office into a fabulous home gym, a space that could inspire one to workout more often! The glorious arched windows flood the room with light, while the delicate curtain panels have an ethereal flow.

Can you please fine out the maker of her front door? Can’t find anyone in Colorado that will make or has those available.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I absolutely agree. I’m in Vancouver and same problem.
I will ask… 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the tour!
Hi Alice, Brittany replied and said the iron doors and windows were custom made by Adooring Design.
This is one beautiful home!
So glad you think so too!
Such an easy and relaxed, yet stunning home in which to live. You would automatically feel relaxed upon entering it, which speaks volumes for how well she has done to make her family and guests feel that way. What a gift to any who enter!
I would love to know her white wall color. It looks like what I’m looking for since it’s not so stark white, but still white enough to feel clean and fresh.
Thank you for sharing!
Blessings,
Teresa
I agree! I will ask about the paint color… 🙂
Lory,
I looked further on her gorgeous blog and found her paint colors. I have been looking for a white to repaint most of our interior in our home. It’s time. When I saw her color was White Dove by Benjamin Moore I had to laugh and finally say, “Uncle!” I have been drawn to that color, but kept looking, thinking I would find something I liked more. I made the commitment today, White Dove it is!
Blessings,
Teresa
Awesome! That’s the color of my cabinets… 🙂
Actually, she answered back and said it was Sherwin Williams Alabaster.
Oh my word! Thank you!
Blessings,
Teresa
Absolutely beautiful and livable too. I love the kitchen most of all with the wood ceiling and the stately cabinets. She has put everything together perfectly. Thanks, Lori, for inviting us to the tour!
So happy you enjoyed!!
Gorgeous home and furnishings. A real joy to be able to see all the charm in this home. French country style is favorite of mine also. Thank you the your. Jean
Glad you appreciated this lovely tour!
The color IS Alabaster from Sherwin Williams. My entire home is Alabaster and it feels warm and calming, l love it! ( I changed from lots of colors to neutral in my retirement home.) So lovely and serene….
Yes, I love it too! I switched to Tapestry Beige which is a pale greige, but now I’m thinking of moving to Alabaster for several of my rooms, too… 🙂
Such a beautiful home! I can’t wait to see the outside landscaping so I’m going to check it out now!
So glad you enjoyed it!!
Gorgeous home! Does anyone know what color the shingles are?
I don’t. I’m sorry.
On another website showcasing the house they said the roof was Tamco Thunderstorm Gray. I love it too!
Where can I find that beautiful barn door?
I’m not sure where she got it. Will try to find out… 🙂
I would love to know the exterior paint color.
Beautiful home!
love each detail of this gorgeous home but especially the way they decorated the brick stones!
