I’m not sure that I ever really thought about decorating for Valentine’s Day when I was younger. First I worried about finding my own Valentine, then I moved on to celebrating through the eyes of my kids. It was cards for their classmates, then candy hearts and chocolates, and once they left for college I would scour the internet looking for something new and different to send each year.
I still love to send sweets to my kids, but these days I’ve started to re-embrace what the day means to me. It usually involves a quiet dinner with hubby, sometimes at a restaurant or otherwise something special prepared at home.
But every now and then I think about a romantic getaway or a day of treats and small pleasures. And peppering our home with little homages to the day is also a ritual I’ve come to enjoy.
Valentine’s Day Decor
How lovely that right in the thick of a frosty winter, along comes Valentine’s Day to warm our hearts. The warm blush pinks that surround the day are quite a welcome sight to be sure.
Before I set off to decorate my table or put romantic touches around my home, I like to comb the web for some visual eye candy, the perfect Valentine’s Day decor inspiration. I’m feeling very pink this year, so you will notice the absence of ruby reds in the images I’ve selected.
