Fall Bedroom Decor: Using Fall Accents to Warm Up a White Bedroom
In this post: Looking to warm up a stark white bedroom with fall decor? These fall bedroom decor ideas will add seasonal warmth to your neutral rooms. ⇒
I love the look of an all white room.
Except when I don’t.
But that’s the best part of an all white room. You can easily change it into whatever you want for very little money and in almost no time.
All it takes is the right accents, well placed with thought and care. As long as you resist the temptation to overdo it, there’s pretty much nowhere you can’t go with a great white underpinning.
Fall Bedroom Decor
This is easy to imagine for spring and summer, and even winter’s snowdrifts work naturally with white decor.
But what about the rich warmth of a fall palette?
I used to think the best you could do with fall tones was to play them off cream and beige. But as it turns out, even stark white makes a wonderful backdrop for a carefully selected palette of fall colors.
Let’s look at 5 ways to bring fall warmth into an all white room.
Earthy Materials
Autumn is characterized by a warmth that can be appreciated through objects made of earthy materials such as terracotta, rattan, wood and copper. Their organic nature is in sync with the season while their warm tones emphasize their impact.
Try a terracotta vase with fall plants, vintage copper decorative objects, amber glass candle holders or wooden bowls in their natural raw state.
Unique Color Pairing
For me rust is having a bit of a moment. Interestingly, in the past I’d never been a fan of the dusty shade, likely because I’ve often seen it mixed with other dark and dusty hues like teal and gold.
How completely different it looks when set against crisp white, all the more beautiful on a lovely linen.
My palette for this fall bedroom combines blush pink with russet and white, and I feel the inclusion of the soft pink makes the whole presentation more enchanting.
Texture
Fall is, without a doubt, the season of texture. Think rich velvets, nubby sweater knits, quilting and more.
Here I balanced the lush Mongolian lamb pillow with the rugged stitching on the piece behind it. Tassels, pompoms and other trims add to the tactile feel of intricate autumn textiles.
Organics
Grasses, feathery branches, wheat stalks, and rattan, anything with a woodsy organic look is well-suited to bring into a neutral fall room. The dry tones work perfectly with the clean clear white, while a little boost of color from the pampas branches is a welcome addition that mirrors the terracotta pillow and vase.
The palette in this space delicately balances a hint of expected autumnal vibrance with an overall quieter approach to seasonal decorating, and that contrast is embodied in the image above.
Florals
Always remember to add in the pretty, in this case with florals comprising a combination of fresh, faux and dried.
The fresh mums and mini roses in the terracotta vase reflect the curated color story, as do the faux dahlias and orange thistle in the ironstone pitcher on the desk. Dried hydrangeas in a vintage silver bowl round out the picture.
More ideas
- Use candles in pretty jars for both their look and their seasonal scent
- A soft throw in blush pink adds a note of femininity that fall decor can benefit from
- Wheat stalks in a white pitcher bring a charming and upbeat nod to fall
- A small white velvet pumpkin doesn’t overpower the tranquil decor
- Place extra pillows in a rattan basket for a touch of color against an organic backdrop
Playing with color is my favorite design element to impart an emotion, whether seasonal or inspired by some other influence, and in this fall room the blend of warm pinky tones is at the heart of the look.
When accessorizing a stark white room, taking into account the palette is of the utmost importance, so the room maintains a sense of harmony.
With the right limited palette and these other notes of warmth, you can embrace the fall season in all its glory, even in the starkest of white rooms!

Thanks for posting about fall decor!
Lovely. My question: where did you buy your bedskirt?? Is it white?
I am having a hard time finding one
I like, Thanks, Susan~
Hi Susan! Thanks for the sweet words. Yes it is white linen. You can find it here: https://rstyle.me/+pJ7mvjXAeXYAbLdlNwma3A
Best,

Very pretty, and thanks for the link to that amazing Etsy site Your Hearts Content. I don’t know how that young woman does it, her prices are so reasonable, but I wish her all the best…and I love the fact that she sells the pumpkin stems separately so the really ugly ones on most faux pumpkins can be easily replaced.
Yes, isn’t that awesome? 🙂
It would be nice to rest here
