Free Halloween Printables: Trick-or-Treat Candy Bag Labels

In this post: Are you looking to add a special touch to your Halloween trick-or-treat bags? These free Halloween printables will do that with whimsical candy bag labels.⇒

I’ve never been a fan of plastic holidays.

You know the kind. When the decorations have more shiny print than a billboard ad, and radiate shimmer and gleam that rivals a cocktail dress. They often come from a craft or party store, with emphasis leaning more toward broadcasting the holiday than toward style and design.

But even quirky holidays can have tasteful decor.

Halloween is the epitome of one such holiday.

Whatever its origins, it has evolved into an extravaganza of candy and costumes, with its ghoulish side becoming far more playful.

I love when the decorations follow suit.

When my own kids were young, I preferred to make trick-or-treat bags that were whimsically adorned, and as they got older we hosted parties at home, where decorated goodie-bags delivered candy to the kids. If you have only a few visitors trick-or-treating on your street (as we now do), a smaller version of these candy bags can be given out to your limited guests.

Today I’m joining a wonderful group of bloggers for a blog hop hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire & Co. and it’s unique in that it brings together a creative pool of bloggers who each share their DIY printables. The topic this time is FREE Halloween printables and each post will offer a free printable that you can download yourself with instructions on how to use it.  Please be sure to visit the complete array of posts linked at the bottom of this one.

I’m offering a selection of candy bag labels that you can print out yourself and adhere to any of the Halloween bags I’ve mentioned above.

Whether using them for large trick-or-treat bags, medium sized goodie-bags or tiny bags to give out to those who come to your door, the place to start is with colored paper bags.

Much like their plastic competitors, you can find these simpler paper bags in craft and party stores or all over the web, and they come in an assortment of colors that will work with your chosen palette.

Choose a larger size with handles for creating trick-a-treat gathering bags, or select smaller bags with smooth tops for a curated little candy giveaway.

I enjoy layering 2 colors together, and folding over the tops to reveal the contrasting inner pop. Then top off the look with a festive bow. For a refined look, combine understated ribbon in classic patterns including gingham checks, simple stripes or solid satin pieces.

Next, you can print out these whimsical labels on good quality card stock, cut them out and adhere with double stick tape. The measurements on the full-sized artwork is perfect for goodie-bags, but you can increase or decrease the size, as needed for different size bags.

Why add more plastic to the environment, when you can have unique and creative decorations for your Halloween candy bags?

So adorable, Lory! Classy at the same time. I’ve probably asked before and have now forgotten how to access the Members library for the printables.? I want to use them to put on baked goods for neighbors! Thanks for such a fun post. 😍
