  1. The guest room looks beautiful. My one concern is your comment to wash the linens in a scented detergent. I am highly sensitive to scents/perfumes of any kind. While some scents will cause me to experience a migraine, other scents will make me sick to my stomach (an unpleasant experience for both the guest and the hostess). At least for the bedding, I would suggest washing them in a fragrance free detergent.

    1. Thank you, Sandra! Yes, it goes without saying that people who have adverse reactions to scented detergents should not use them. I suppose a conversation in advance with your guests could solve that one… 🙂

    2. I’m sensitive to scents, as well. A good friend loves candles. I always feel the affects and she quickly blows them out and removes. Scented bedding would bother me all night and I would feel like I had a bad cold – runny nose and itchy eyes. Clean sheets smell fresh so no need for adding a lavender scent.

…and a wastepaper basket! I just returned from a two-week visit to relatives living in a very crowded two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. I finally found a stash of tissues, but never did find a wastepaper basket in the entire apartment.

    1. Haha! Great point! I do have one in my guest room, but I guess I should point it out… 😉
