Today I’m looking back at our Home Decor from the past year and my quest to achieve a casually elegant home. It’s been quite a year for us in styling our new home. We undertook a few renovations but mostly spent the year decorating the townhouse we moved into a year and a half ago. I finally got my white kitchen and we converted a closet into a butler’s pantry. I put finishing touches on the first floor and new effort into the second. I helped both of my kids decorate their own apartments, and then with the basics done, immersed myself in seasonal decorating.
I see my style as ever evolving, but it’s still firmly rooted in French Country influence. Yet my taste is cleaning up and getting lighter and lighter. I think you’ll see updates in the coming year, that have more to do with refinement than big sweeping changes. But always my goal is for a casually elegant home, where I can come home and love what I see, but feel comfortable and coddled. I hope you achieve the same thing in your homes!
Wishing you all a happy healthy New Year and and a wonderful start to the coming year!
