Farmhouse Style: Where to Buy Modern Farmhouse Furniture and Decor
In this post: If you’re a fan of farmhouse style and would like affordable quality options, you’ll love this new source for modern farmhouse furniture and decor.⇒
When did mall furniture become so expensive?
Do you wonder the same thing? I remember the days when a decorator would take you to the D&D building in New York to buy “real furniture”. It was expensive and intimidating and hence many of us were grateful when chain stores started popping up in our local malls, carrying much more attainable furniture.
They were not the best quality, but they got the trends right, so we fell in love and shopped in droves. Then came the catalogs and the merchandising teams got better and better, and before you knew it, our local malls rivaled the design showrooms.
But the prices crept up, too.
Until some stores became jaw-droppingly expensive!
Last week I shared with you an event I was invited to by my sponsor, Ashley HomeStore, to preview their new mane + mason line. The line is both lovely and affordable and can best be described as modern farmhouse.
If you missed that post you can see it HERE, for details on the event and the general vibe the line inspires. But today I promised to share with you some of the actual furniture pieces, styled in a home-type setting. So lets dive right in.
Living
This Savesto Sectional is my absolute favorite piece in the entire collection, and I can tell you, I sat on it and it’s awesome! Super comfortable with a great casual attitude, I love the creamy white but it does come in other options, as well. I can also tell you, this is half the price of what I spent on my family room sectional and I wish it was available when I had bought ours.
I don’t have the names of all the pieces but I think this one is called the Blinton entertainment center. It’s a fabulous mix of farmhouse style, with chippy barn doors that can conceal a TV, and modern touches like industrial hardware and clean lines. It works wonderfully with the caged lighting pieces and plush pillows.
Here’s the sofa in the darker color which plays nicely with the wood pieces. The accessories are particularly fun here, with a patterned rug and statement wall art, perfect for any farmhouse home.
Dining
One of the things I most love about the dining pieces is that the shapes borrow liberally from farmhouse style but there’s plenty of upholstery used for lush comfort. This is the Dazzelton dining set and I’m crazy about the Fossil Ridge accent cabinet behind it. The metal pendant light is the icing on the cake.
If you prefer a round table there are several choices, including this homey Grindleburg round dining set with distressed wood top and painted base. Durable fabric chairs are very inviting and the Hardy flatware rug adds another note of warmth.
Some characteristics seen throughout the line are two tone pieces mixing wood stain with paint, drawers for storage, and planked items. This Tyler Creek dining set comprises all those things and blends inviting comfort with modern appeal. Another one of my favorite pieces that can be seen in the background is the Bolanburg display cabinet that can be utilized in so many ways.
The Bolanburg dining set comes in counter height, offering utilitarian storage at the base of the table. It works beautifully with the server seen against the window and embodies that signature marriage of modern with farmhouse.
The Grindleburg dining set also comes in rectangular, and again makes use of that beautiful raw planked wood. It seems to be calling out for a farm to table meal, yet the sleek cozy chairs offer a dose of urban chic.
Sleeping
The same wonderful design principles are brought to the bedroom furniture pieces with chippy painted wood and planking details signaling the farmhouse look, while modern lines and durable quality round out the package.
The Nashburg bed, above, has a nostalgic feel, and is a great piece to style with most any of the storage pieces. Its updated character gives it great attitude and can swing urban or farmhouse and the need suits.
Yet if rustic is your thing, the Grindleburg panel bedroom is for you, below, again making use of the raw planked wood. It looks awesome with the rich textures of the bedding and decorative pillows and throws.
And with farmhouse, it always comes back to barn doors, which inspired the Brashland bedroom collection, below. At once welcoming and streamlined, it embodies the essence of the modern farmhouse aesthetic that the mane + mason line is all about.
I’ve shared a lot with you, but by no means everything, and I know you will want to see this line as soon as it’s available at the end of September. Be sure to check the Ashley HomeStore website for the official line opening and for a listing to find a store near you.
How nice it is to find a source for affordable stylish furniture! It’s almost like going back in time to when alternatives to expensive designer showrooms first came on the scene.
You can thank me later…
